The Coaster in the Maritime District

Right in the centre of Rotterdam and yet relatively quiet: the Maritime District. Here you will find the heritage harbours with many antique ships, the typical Rotterdam high-rise towers, several museums, the Old Harbour and the hippest and nicest eateries & bars. Our Bootique hotel "De Coaster" is in the middle of this, in the Wijnhaven.

Our ship, built in 1909, served as a freight coastal vessel until the 1970s. Recently, we purchased the ship and upgraded it to luxury cabins with all modern conveniences. You can reach all the hotspots of the city within a few minutes. The ship has three cabins: Popeye's Cabin is situated in the front part of the ship. Olive's Cabin is situated in the middle part of the ship and Captain's Cabin with her brand new spacious wheelhouse in the back part. The first 2 Cabins offer two rooms with 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed for 2 persons, the last one has 1 double bed. All the cabins are connected by a double door, so groups of up to 10 people can stay with us! Each cabin has its own kitchen and bathroom and of course the ship is equipped with excellent heating (and in the stern also air conditioning) and you can enjoy the spacious sun-drenched terraces on top of the ship in good weather.

A luxury jacuzzi on the midship is available as an option for guests and is for private use, which will be coordinated by us with any other guests. We no longer sail the ship, but if you want to paddle around a bit, you can optionally use our little dinghy Walli at your own risk (don't go on the Meuse!); this dinghy has both paddles and a handy electric motor. On request you can also make free use of a luxury gas outdoor kitchen/bbq and a bicycle with shopping basket, handy for getting something in the city.
